“Manudam Pawura” a common cause for a clean environment by “Ape Sathkaraya”
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the environmental project to be carried out during the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival, jointly by the Temple of The Sacred Tooth Relic and Unilever Sri Lanka took place this afternoon (Dec 07) at the Golden Utensils Pavilion of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Under the theme “Manudam Pawura”, which connects for a clean environment through “Ape Sathkaraya”, the temple of The Sacred Tooth Relic and Sunlight brand of Unilever Sri Lanka will join hands during the Kandy Esala Perahara Festival season to educate the general public about non-degradable waste in the holy city of Kandy, non-degradable waste including polythene will be disposed under a proper system. This is to be implemented for five years (2024 – 2029) as a project with many environmentally friendly multifaceted strategies. The Kandy Municipal Council is a partner, and the temple will provide the necessary infrastructure facilities and financials.
